Collaboration between Dundee and St Andrews Universities produces TarO protein sequence analysis system
19th March 2008

Release of the TarO protein sequence analysis system. TarO runs a battery of analysis techniques on a protein sequence and searches a range of databases. The results are collated and presented in tabular form and as annotations on the Jalview protein sequence alignment workbench. Although developed initially to help in protein target selection for protein crystallography and structural genomics, TarO is useful to any scientist who would like to find out more about their favourite protein sequence. TarO is the result of a collaboration with St Andrews University as part of the Scottish Structural Proteomics Facility and will be described in a paper to be published
in Nucleic Acids Research later this year. For full details and to try TarO see: www.compbio.dundee.ac.uk/taro
